On Sunday May 25 we left for Ft. Lauderdale w/ Chuck and Mickie. After a 12 hour drive we arrived in Weston, FL (12 miles form Ft. Lauderdale). We spent the next week driving all around South Florida. We spent a couple of days in the Keys. They are absolutely breath takingly beautiful. Key West has a lot of life on it and the population is actually bigger than Daphne, Al. Imagine that!! We saw Homestead, ground zero for Hurricane Andrew '92. It was amazing to see all the new construction. Miami was like another world. There didn;t seem to be too many English speaking people there. Palm Beach and Ft. Lauderdale beaches have lots of money and beautiful people. We drove to West Palm Beach and did a drive through lion safari. The kids really enjoyed seeing all the animals. We laso did an airboat ride through the Everglades. We saw some alligators and amazing birds. Finally we took the kids to Wannado City. A "theme park" for the 2-14 set. The kids got to pretend to be whatever they wanted to be. Jordan was a doctor, nurse, candy maker, detective, etc. Ryan was in the circus, a dentist, a candymaker, etc. They both had a GREAT time. If we ever go back down there we will definitley take the kids there again. After a 12 1/2 hour drive we arrived back home on Sunday 6/1 safe and sound.
